Dirty Ego ATL

It has been a long time coming, but Dirty Ego is BACK!

I am so thrilled to announce Dirty Ego-The Seven Deadly Sins coming to Studio No. 7 on Friday October 16th at 7pm.

Since I can’t show you any of the photographs until the show, I wanted to revisit the first Dirty Ego we showed in this post, because this project is very near and dear to my heart.

Back in college when I was going through photography school, the idea of Dirty Ego sparked the hamster inside my head and from that moment on the idea has grown organically into what it is today. The idea of Dirty Ego is that we all have a little something different inside of us. We all have a little alter-ego that comes out every now and then.

The first series of Dirty Ego was based around 19 people doing criminal activities and getting caught. It was supposed to be fun and light hearted, because obviously none of these folks would do these horrible things. I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of people that wanted to be involved and volunteered to be in the show.

I worked with Corey Bertrand of The2econdFloor and we created these crazy images showing these people coming outside of themselves and doing these horrible criminal acts. MINT gallery jump on board and hosted the opening event and kept our work up for the public for 3 months. We had about 300-400 people come through the night of the opening and everyone had a blast. I have posted some of my favorite mugshots/crimes below.

I am so excited for this year! Each ‘sinner’ that I have photographed are also artists of various mediums and they will be showing 1 piece at the opening party as well. Not only that…but…THEY ARE ALL FEMALES!
