I was so honored when florist and floral designer extraordinaire Angela Head, AIFD, asked me to take photos of her arrangements during her presentation last week. Not only was I excited to hear her speak, but I was thrilled to take photos of her creative arrangements. She is extremely talented and visually has the eye for what works together in a fun fashion. I was so excited to see what she had in store for me to shoot.
When we got to the space it was packed with other florists who wanted in on Angela’s secret! We set up 2 lights and a white seamless, which we draped across a table. I set up my laptop and shot tethered so when people would come gather around they could see the final shot. Angela let me introduce myself and tell a little bit about my set up and what we were trying to accomplish with these photos. In product photography, especially flowers, I always want to make sure that it is showcasing the actual design and concept that Angela is trying to get across. When people go to her website and see her designs, I don’t want there to be any surprises.
Angela did 5 different arrangements with about 5-6 sub-arrangements in each. We got so many great photos! I wanted to showcase her fall arrangements due to the weather finally shifting to fall here in Georgia. I am lucky to have 3 of these arrangement in my home and I am addicted to her use of color!
